What is Praise?

Praise is a word that we don’t use as often as we should!  What is praise? The actual meaning of the word “Praise” means to “express approval or admiration,”  ”the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship” and/or “expressing warm approval.” 

It seems we don’t use the term that much, but it sure fits when we have God’s love on our side and he gets us through what seems like an impossible situation.  We just need to pray and have faith that he will help us through the rough times, then give him “praise” and thank him for all that he does for us. The rough times are when we are drawn the closest to him and what a comfort that is!

 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;  2 Chronicles 5:13
