What is Praise?

Praise is a word that we don’t use as often as we should!  What is praise? The actual meaning of the word “Praise” means to “express approval or admiration,” “the expression of respect and gratitude as an act of worship” and/or “expressing warm approval.” 

Even though we don’t seem to find ourselves praising God as much as we should, but when God’s love gets us through what seems like an impossible situation, we are very thankful and praise Him.

Remember that prayer and having faith that He will help us through the rough times, even if the outcome isn’t exactly what we desire, He has our best interests at heart and we are called to trust Him. The rough times are when we are drawn the closest to him and what a comfort that is! Even when you are in a difficult situation…Praise Him! This shows you have confidence in what the Lord is doing for you and your life.

It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; 2 Chronicles 5:13
