Steps

1. Begin by thinking of how much God has done for you from day to day up until this very moment. The Lord has a lot of influence in our lives. Think upon the emotions you feel, this may be God working through you. Allow emotions to take form in worthwhile, peaceful actions, ie: turn it to a higher purpose. Rage may seem counter-Christian, yet there is a reason for it that you need to think about.
   • Guide it, and try to give it constructive loving purpose (Do not let it ultimately become vengeful or hateful).
2. Think of Jesus becoming man and dying on the cross in atonement for your sins and for rising again that you might share in His life.
3. Let it seep in. The awareness raised from steps one and two will enable the gratitude to seep in. Do not be afraid to question the facts. Religious research is an individual journey that you need not undertake on your own with the Bible, fellow believers and the Holy Spirit to moderate it.
4. Start naming qualities or attributes for God, eg: “You are mighty!”, “You are Omnipotent, my Father, my Lord!”, “You are all and in all.”
5. Thank Him for what you pondered in the first two steps, audibly.
6. Thank and glorify God for the gift and beauty of Creation and for creating you.
7. Utilize Creation for your praising God, e.g.: “The sky and the sea, praise the Lord”; “Let all that is within me bless the Lord.”
8. Let Him take over as you express your deep love for God and ! “The Lord inhabits the praise of his people [those who Love Him]!” Psalms 22:3

• Instead of dreaming a dark future, brighten up the lives of others in the name of Jesus. The Bible says that visiting the least of the followers of God in their time of need (and helping as you can) is “perfect Christianity“. He responds, moves and acts, “inhabits the praises” according to the Bible.
• Feel free to either raise your hands straight in the air in the universal “sign of surrender” when you feel like surrendering — or in the universal “symbol of acceptance” (agreeing with the Lord), and so spread your arms and reach out for Him as He meets you there.
• Read the Book of Psalms often for praises that you can use and be inspired by. Walk on the bright side of life, praising and glorifying the Lord by singing to God.
• As a Christian, you have an arsenal of praise: the Bible equips you with material for spontaneous praise in the scriptures. Catholics praying the Divine Office attentively–itself a prayer of praise is a form of praise. The prayers of the Saints are wonderful, and of course–the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is among the highest forms of praise this side of Heaven!
• Cultivate a sense of wonder and amazement in all things good, true and beautiful such as your daily life.
• When you notice an attractive member of the opposite sex you can praise God for the wonder of that person–this builds your sense of respect. Honor God by honoring His plan of living in the bonds of Holy Matrimony.
• Even in difficult moments praise God, you will find peace and fulfillment.
• An earthquake shook the jail after Paul and Silas were beaten and imprisoned, and they continued to sing praises into the night. They glorified God and the jail doors broke open. The prisoners saw the jailer about to fall on his own sword assuming that the prisoners had run away in the dark. They cried out to him not to harm himself, as they had all stayed. Their jailer and his family became believers as he was so amazed. He took them to his living quarters and washed their wounds because God really does inhabit the praises of his people. This was at Philippi. (Acts 16:12-40).

Warnings

• Don’t become presumptuous because you’ve been given the gift of praise. You can still fall and must continually strive for holiness through living for Christ.
• Praise must be given through the way you’re living — actualize and realize the Christian way.
• Try not to fall into mere sentimental feeling and shallow words spoken repeatedly without really thinking of their meaning…
• Avoid doubt. Say, “I will bless the Lord. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Call yourself a Christian and press forward into the joy of the Lord.

Even in tough situations, it is a great time to Praise God. When we do this, we show that we trust that God is in control.

When it seems there is no way out, we can become very depressed and doubtful.  This feeling adds to the situation and shows that we are not giving our problems to God.  Sometimes it may seem too big of a problem to overcome, but just trust that God will be there when we pray and never lose hope in Him.

It seems when we try to do everything our way or try to handle difficult situations ourselves, it becomes very over whelming and it is really hard to live our lives in peace. But that is exactly what God gives you is peace.  The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

When bad situations are improved, some people may chalk it up as coincidence, but when confiding in God, you never have to rely on luck. Luck is not what carries us through.  It is God’s loving hand that carries us.  Many people don’t understand this and go through life thinking that they need to handle everything themselves and that just leads to more worry and disappointment. 

It always intrigues me to hear about such dire circumstances that came out so well, some are nothing short of a miracle! Another action that really pleases God that coincides with praying and confiding in him is praising Him.  When God creates a miracle, it feels great to praise God.  But even if it seems our circumstances are getting worse or not improving, it is still good to praise God for his blessings, even if we are not feeling that blessed at the time. 

God works everything together for good~ 

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.

So his plan is the best and whatever the outcome, praise God for his works. The more we are thankful and praise Him, it seems the more we feel a comfortable peace within.
